Dentures have stood the test of time as a reliable means of replacing missing or newly extracted teeth.

We offer a choice of implant-supported and non-implant-supported dentures, and our dentist will help you identify which option best suits your needs, budget, and lifestyle.

Types of dentures

At Bromsgrove Dental Specialists, we can provide dentures to replace one or several missing teeth or to replace an entire mouth of missing teeth. We offer traditional dentures that stay in place due to suction against your gums, and implant-supported dentures that click onto the implants placed within your jaw.

Our denture choices are:

  • Partial dentures: to replace one or more missing teeth. These are held in place with suction, or with the help of attachments that are secured to remaining healthy teeth.
  • Complete dentures: to replace a whole row (or arch) of missing teeth).
  • Implant-supported dentures: to replace several missing teeth or a whole row of missing teeth. The dentures click onto the implants. As few as two implants can be used to secure implant dentures in the lower jaw and four implants in the upper jaw, making them more economical for replacing a high number of missing teeth.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

We understand that choosing the right dental treatment can come with many questions. To help you feel informed and confident in your care, we’ve answered some of the most commonly asked questions about this treatment. Our friendly team is always here to help if you need further information.

What are dentures made of?

Traditional dentures are made of cobalt chrome (metal) or acrylic bases. The teeth are made of acrylic, which captures the natural characteristics of real teeth extremely convincingly.

What is the treatment process for getting dentures?

Once you decide to proceed with treatment, your dentist will take conventional impressions or digital scans to create your dentures.

Your dentures can be made on-site. Thanks to our on-site 3D printing technology, we can often create your dentures on the day of the treatment planning stages. This saves our patients valuable time and allows them to have their new teeth more quickly than when design details need to be sent to a remote dental laboratory.

If you have chosen to have implant-supported dentures, you will undergo implant surgery to have the implants placed. You will be provided with a set of temporary dentures during the 3-6 month healing time (so you will not be without a set of functional teeth). Once your jaw has healed following implant surgery, we can replace the temporary dentures with a long-term custom-made set.

How long do dentures last for?

Our dentures are designed to last for 5-10 years. We use robust materials that will support chewing and biting.

We will provide an aftercare plan to help you look after your dentures in the short and long term, which includes attending routine check-ups with the dentist and hygienist (these are the bedrock of maintaining the quality of your dentures).

Why choose Bromsgrove Dental Specialists?

At Bromsgrove Dental Specialists, our dentists have years of experience working with patients seeking to replace missing teeth. We take our patients’ expectations very seriously—we know choosing to have a tooth replacement is a significant step.

We design your new dentures in the most nature-mimicking way possible. This leaves you with a long-term solution that will keep you smiling for years. We are providing you with a set of new teeth, not simply ‘dentures. ‘

If you are feeling a little nervous about treatment, we offer IV (intravenous) sedation, which many of our patients describe as ‘magic’ for managing their phobia and nerves.

We care for many patients who come in to see us after failed dental work elsewhere, and we pride ourselves on finding solutions for you (even if you have been denied treatment in the past or something might not have gone to plan at another dental practice). We will always find a way forward for you.

Worried about having a tooth removed? 🦷

If an extraction is required, your comfort is always our priority.

The area is thoroughly numbed to ensure the procedure is as gentle as possible.

But what matters just as much is what happens after the tooth is removed.

We carefully clean the socket, and where appropriate, pack and stitch the area to support ideal healing.

This is especially important if you’re considering replacing the tooth with a dental implant in the future.

A well-managed extraction today helps protect your options tomorrow 🤍

Dentures or implants — which is right for you? 🦷

When it comes to replacing missing teeth, there isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer.

Dentures and implants are both excellent treatment options — they’re just very different.

• Dentures are removable and can be a more cost-effective way to replace multiple teeth at once. When designed well, they can be very effective.

• Implants are usually fixed solutions, offering stability and a feel closer to natural teeth.

• We also offer implant-retained dentures — a hybrid option that “clicks” securely into place for added stability.

The right choice depends on your needs, your goals, and your circumstances.

Our job is to guide you through the options clearly and honestly so you can make the decision that feels right for you 🤍

If you’re unsure which route to take, book a consultation and let’s talk it through.

Teeth in a Day 🦷✨

For patients struggling with failing, wobbly, or unaesthetic teeth, Teeth in a Day can be a life-changing solution.

With detailed planning, we can remove the affected teeth, place dental implants (usually a minimum of four), and fit a fixed bridge — all in a single day.

For the right cases, it means walking out with a secure, natural-looking smile in a very short space of time — restoring comfort, confidence, and quality of life.

A complete smile transformation, without the long wait 🤍

“Is this going to hurt?”

It’s the question we hear most — and the answer is no 🤍

Meet Karan, our specialist oral surgeon. From day one, his calm, gentle approach is designed to help patients feel at ease during what can often be a nerve-wracking experience.

Oral surgery isn’t just about the procedure itself — it’s about taking the time to listen, build trust, and guide patients through the journey with empathy and reassurance. With modern anaesthetics and advanced techniques, treatment today is far more comfortable than many expect.

Seeing the relief on a patient’s face at the end of a procedure is what makes it all worthwhile ✨

“When I first came in, I was a jittering wreck.”

Rosalind came to us with a badly infected upper right molar and the emotional weight that comes with losing a tooth — especially one so visible.

Through clear explanations, complete transparency on costs and timelines, and a calm, gentle approach throughout, we were able to place two upper right implants and restore her smile.

Today, her implants look and feel like natural teeth — and more importantly, her confidence has been fully restored.

Feeling safe, heard, and cared for is just as important as the clinical result
